Oliva
Melanio Oliva cultivated his first tobacco crop in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba in 1886 and, in the early l920’s, his son Facundo Oliva took over the company - cultivating tobacco in the family fields for several decades.
As Fidel Castro assumed control over Cuba, the tobacco landscape changed. Facundo’s son Gilberto Oliva shifted operations to Nicaragua in the early 1960’s to gift the world Oliva Cigars - iconic dark wrapper with a distinctively full bodied taste.
